Botanical Art

A creative, supportive group for Friends members who enjoy botanical drawing and painting, from beginners honing their skills to experienced artists developing advanced botanical illustration.

What the group does:

•            Promotes botanical artists and illustrators, providing a forum for learning, sharing skills and exploring this exacting art form.

•            Runs 2–4 workshops each year to improve skills and experiment with new techniques and ideas. See upcoming workshops details in the Friends newsletter.

•            Displays and sells artwork and greeting cards in the Gallery Room of North Lodge Gift Shop near the Friends’ Gate. 

•            Holds a major biennial exhibition at the National Wine Centre to showcase members’ work.

When and where:

Meets every Saturday from 12–4 pm in the Lecture Room of the Goodman Building, Adelaide Botanic Gardens, Hackney Rd. We welcome interested visitors on a Saturday, to see us at work.

Who should join:

Members or prospective Members with an interest in botanical art, whether beginners learning foundational techniques or experienced artists refining their craft. The group is welcoming, collaborative and ideal for those who enjoy drawing, painting and sharing ideas with fellow artists.
